Supermoon on March 19th

There is a Supermoon on March 19th - it may affect some of us who are due around that date.  Most of you probably already know that more babies are born around the full moon each month.  This will be the closest that the moon has been to the Earth in 18 years.  It can appear 16% larger in the sky than normal, and will have a stronger pull on the tides than normal.  

I don't get into the gloom and doom predictions of natural disasters like others, but I do believe it could affect birth since even normal full moon cycles do.  So get out there, beautiful mamas, and enjoy the loving help of our gorgeous moon!

Very cool... My DD was born on the full moon, maybe this one will be too. I'm due the 15th, and felt like I'd be early, but now that it hasn't happened yet, maybe this babe is waiting for the supermoon!

I am a first time mama due on April 5.... Do you think it could affect me and make me go that early? I have been having lots of feelings of pressure/stretching on my cervix with my bh contrax. Seemingly more that a lot off people have at this stage. I am kinda worried bout this because my sister from out of state is coming for the birth on mar 30 and I really don't want her to miss it! :-)

Oh cool, so glad you posted that!  I'll be 38 weeks then so it might be close enough to affect me.  Better not tell DH, he is freaking out already that the baby will come sooner than we expect and we won't be ready.  But it's definitely good incentive for me to step up the preparations!

I was due the 14th but maybe my baby is waiting for a big beautiful moon to make its entrance :D

Well, the supermoon seems to be helping me a bit.  My water broke in the middle of the night last night.  My contractions died down during the day and they're picking up again now that it's night.

Mariposita - ELV!

I can't believe no more babies?!    Apparently in this DDC we go in bunches.  It took awhile in March to get it started, then a whole bunch came together.  I have a feeling that will happen again very very soon.  Hang in there guys!

I still have a week until me edd, but I feel pains here and there, mostly at night when I'm in bed!  Hopefully soon baby will come! ELV to everyone who is still waiting!

I did end up having a Supermoon baby!    Yemma Alima was born at 3:40pm on Saturday afternoon, just hours after the actual full moon (11:10am).  It was a peaceful home waterbirth on a gorgeous Spring day - the first of the year!  I'm hoping to write up my birth story today and I'll post it.

Hope all of you still waiting are enjoying the moon anyhow!  We take Yemma out every night to look at it if she's not sleeping and she instantly goes back to sleep.
