We're trying to find friends in the area and can't get ahold of them. We're all very upset, and the kids have been in tears off and on since about our 3rd failed attempt to find them yesterday. Even some information about how hard that area was hit (the news makes it seem unlikely they survived, but their school website says school will be back in session as of Tuesday so it can't be as bad as the media says can it???)
If you have any info, or are close enough that you'd be willing to try to make contact with them for us...or SOMETHING, please respond or pm me. I don't have their phone number since we never communicate via regular telephones (skype, email, etc aren't doing a fat lot of good. Need to get numbers next time we talk!), but I have their address and of course lots of other info that might aid in locating them in person.
I'd also really love some first hand info about what's happening in Japan. The news has me about ready to offer up our savings to get our friends out and away to anywhere but there!
