How to keep all the vacuum cleaner attachment type things neat and useable?

All the little attachments for the vacuum cleaner don't actually sit tightly on the vacuum cleaner itself, and I also now (very happily) use a steam mop with different mop heads and reusable cloths. I don't have a great area of the house for all my cleaning gear, but I could make that kind of space happen. If I do try to take over some closet space for that, how should I keep all these dribs and drabs of gear sorted so I can find and use them easily?

I think a tub of "cleaning-device parts" would suffice.

Would it be worth buying some heavy-duty velcro and putting one piece on the vacuum in the spot it goes and the other on the piece itself?

You could then hang the pieces of the mop in a cupboardl or basket.
