Digging and poop eating.

Ok, two more things.

1.  Our dogs are diggers--anyway to keep them from digging under the fence or in the middle of the grass would be great.  I don't mind them digging if they can learn to understand WHERE I am ok with it.

2.  One dog keeps eating his poop.  I have heard of "forbid" (a product to put in his food to keep him from eating it) but was wondering if there are other ways of solving this.  We pick up poop regularly, he doesn't eat it everytime, and only eats the fresh stuff.

The poop eating I read is due to something lacking in the diet. I would try that food additive if you do not want to switch the diet around.

For the digging I have caught my dogs digging where they hear/see moles/voles. By the fence it has not been a huge problem, but I do add fill dirt along the fence line.Perhaps you could add some clay dirt, stones,or logs.

Thanks, I read that too.  I have been watching him a bit closer though and he seems to not eat it, but carry it.  Still gross, but I don't think it is a food thing.

The digging is def. harder to break.  I don't want to resort to my parents/grandparents method, though even that is better than a doggy pancake on the street.  Right now we are being vigilant about checking for new holes and trying to catch them in the act.  One person suggested filling their "holes" with their poop.  I don't know if it will work, but we did try it.  So far, so good. . . but I don't know why they wouldn't just start a new hole.
