OB's in Athens, Ohio

Anyone out there from Athens, Ohio? I moved here last year. Pregnant, now, and have no clue as to who is a good OB out this way. I had a natural childbirth with my first, and would like to do so, again. I would prefer a care provider who would be okay with me refusing certain tests and won't frown upon pushing in different positions. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? I'd appreciate it!

Try posting in the Ohio forum in the "Finding Your Tribe" area...that's where people look for local recommendations.

My girlfriend went through this practice http://silvermoonmidwifery.com/ I was super jealous as they do HBs AND accept insurance.

Thanks! I have been in contact with her. I just want to keep my options open at this point, so I am curious specifically about the OB's in Athens. We have some pretty awesome midwives here. :)

ah :) I totally didn't even register in my head MW vs. OB. I've never had an OB :)

Have you checked with the University? Usually they have teaching hospitals that are always up on the newest research. I always like going to teaching facilities :)

We have one hospital here: O'Bleness. I've heard from some more women out this way and have a little more direction, now. Found out that the practice with 6 OB's is probably not going to work for me. About half of them are not so keen on NUCB. There is a CNM with an OB at a different practice that will start delivering in the hospital soon. She is NCB-friendly.

If I stay home, there are some awesome midwives to choose from, and Delphine is one of them. If I go to the hospital, I think there'd only be like one OB and her MW that I would fit with.

Needless to say, I've got some names, now. Thanks!
