2 year old has been screaming for 2 days following fever. won't eat. HELP!!

My barely 2 year old had a fever from Thursday to Saturday.  yesterday was the first day with no fever and he basically had non-stop temper tantrums all day.  This morning he just woke up screaming and screamed for at least an hour and is finally relaxing in my lap right now.  He refuses to eat.  Hasn't eaten much at all since he's had a fever.  I have offered everything.  It's clear his blood sugar is very low, but I can't get him to eat.  I have offered all his favorite foods.  HELP!

Sounds like he has an ear infection.

He's verbal and has only said his throat hurts.  He says his ear does not hurt.  I think his throat hurts from all the screaming! (and couphing)

Sounds like strep or a respiratory infection depending on the coughing, no matter what it is if it is so severe he can't eat I would take him to the doctor (whichever type you favour) and have hime treated.

Have you tried to look in his mouth? Ds had hand, foot & mouth this summer & was pretty much like this. He didn't really have anything on his hands & feet but his mouth & throat were full of sores. Very painful looking.

Everyone else is right, in that it could be something persistent about the sickness... But I know with my toddler this would happen because she is just THAT HUNGRY but doesn't understand what being hungry is all about.  I can usually get her to drink some juice as a start, maybe in a new special cup that she's excited to try out.  Or I let her have a snack while watching a movie (something she doesn't usually get to do) and she'll eat well.  Maybe something like that?
