vacan with 16 and 2 y.o., disney, beach? help me out here

Hey guys.  We're hosting an exchange student whom we adore and her spring break is coming up.  I want to go on some sort of vacation and will need to take my 2 year old.  We live in Atlanta, so I'm debating between Disney World (wich we can just afford) or a trip to a coastal Island.  I trying to think of other options, but am not coming up with anything.  If we went to disney, we would tent camp (I wish we could rent an RV) wish I'm not looking forward to w/o hubby.  I think they'd both have fun and while I'd enjoy watching ds, I can see myself just trying to keep up.  If it were just ds and I we'd hit the beach, but how much is there for a 16 y.o. with only a host mom and 2 year old to chill with?  Ideas?  Help me out.

Depending on the 16 year old . . .

As a sixteen year old I wouldn't have enjoyed disneyworld.  I was too cool for that sort of thing, but it might be a lot more fun for an exchange student.

Beach sounds less-than-fantastic to me personally, but I thought at 16, would have thought at 2, and still think now that tide pools are the best thing EVER.  So if there are tide pools at the beach (instead of just sand) I would say that for me at any age, that would be the best thing to do.

Hard to say without knowing the personality of the 16 yo!

You should check out the Dis Mommas Unite thread under tribal areas. I read a lot on there when we were planning a trip! Very helpful.

What about Destin, FL? The beach is beautiful, heated pools, miniture golf & activities. Can you ask the exchange student what she would prefer?

Have a great trip!
