I bought all the herbs recommended for pregnancy for IGT (oat straw, dandelion, red clover, alfalfa, goat's rue (I've read it's ok after 36 weeks)) and tried brewing tea with them but I find it totally unpalatable. I was gagging trying to get it down. Has anyone filled their own capsules with dried herbs? I was thinking about grinding them in my food processor so they are finer and filling capsules. I have empty gelatin capsules already. Or I was thinking about trying to make a tincture out of them (with the herbs in More Milk Plus special blend which is what a IBCLC friend recommended). I made a goat's rue tincture once but I'm not sure if its as potent as the store bought ones.

In a nutshell I have PCOS and IGT. Low supply with DS, I think I may have had a full supply with DD but we were also dealing with a tongue tie and food allergies so my supply dropped and I had to supplement both. They nursed until 26 and 18 months. While pregnant with DD I took capsules of herbs during the 3rd trimester, and prometrium and metformin. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to do any of that this time. I'm kind of feeling that my supply will be what it is no matter what. But I decided I should take the herbs atleast because if I don't I might regret it. I'm almost 35 weeks so I should really start taking them asap...
