I'm sick and tired of using our shared, coin-op washers/dryers in the basement. I'm grossed out, too.Â
And I'm worried dd's diapers aren't getting clean and rinsed our properly.
Â
I have discovered the existence of portable washers. I'm sold. ![]()
Â
Now deciding between:
* the smaller HLP21N Haier - 1 cubic foot - washes around 6 pounds, 3 water levels/3 cycles
* the larger HLP23E Haier - 1 1/2 cubic feet - washes around 8 pounds (just slightly more expensive), 4 water levels/4 cycles - this one is about 2Â x 3Â x 4Â (this one for the height)Â inches larger
Â
I'd like to get the larger one, thinking I could do larger loads. DH is worried it won't fit into our bathroom (larger one doesn't have casters).
Â
Would the smaller one be just fine? How many prefolds would I be able to wash each time (infant size)?Â
Â
I'm also hoping I can eventually get the dryer, too. I'd like to dry on a rack and just pop laundry in when it's almost dry to soften up.  Would this work? I'm especially worried about the prefolds, I don't want them to get crunchy.Â
Â
If I can make this work I'll be thrilled!  No more numerous trips to the basement,  waiting on a machine, cleaning it (talk about an overuse of softeners, ewww) and hoping no one else will get there before I do and dump it out elsewhere. It would make my life so much easier. And I'm sure our prefolds would like it, too. ![]()
