Forgot to ask to be added - Please add me :) I'd love to join!

Becca, due the 3rd with our second. After giving birth in march of '10, we didn't take precautions once I got my fertility back after about 9 weeks pp. The first month I pointed out when I would be ovulating we conceived which I'm so thankful for since I am 38, and my mom and dad tried for 7 years after me to have another (im an only child) and we found out recently that my mothers bio parents (she was adopted), never had any other children with their respective spouses - so I wasn't sure what that meant, but I'm so relieved that I was able to conceive again.

I had planned to not get an ultrasound at all, but may again at 20 weeks although my last pregnancy went so well, I just made sure last time where the placenta was and due to my "advanced age" ha, we wanted to see how everything looked. Listening to everyone talk about seeing their little one and the heartbeat and finding out the sex is sounding more and more tempting. I'd love to start making girl things if it is a girl. I pretty much have everything I need for a boy, except for some extra warm things for winter.

I am really starting to show and definitely have a slight case of sickness if I don't eat often enough this time. Last time I let myself eat all the time so I don't know if I would have had that then too.

Hi again ladies!  Well, I had my first appt this morning.  I had some good news, and some news I guess you could say is just ok.  I started to have some brown spotting on friday evening.  It's really light- like, I don't need to wear a liner or anything, just my old period panties.  Obv. I've been quite nervous all weekend, but I spoke with my GP on Sat, who said that as long as it's not bright red, it doesn't increase significanty in quantity, and I don't have intense cramping, it was ok to wait until the appt I'd already scheduled for today.

The good news: my dr did a transvaginal u/s and that was fine- the baby's right where s/he needs to be.  According to the date of my LMP I'm @ 6 weeks today, developmentally the baby is @ 6 weeks, 3 days.  It's a good think these drs know what they're looking for, because all I can see is a little bubble!  smile.gif

The so-so news: She couldn't see a heartbeat, but that's not a big deal; it's still a bit early for that.  She said it's possible the spotting is old blood from implantation, but I'm on pelvic rest- no sex, exercising, etc, until I go back in 2 weeks.  She said, of course, to keep an eye on the color/quatity of spotting, and that at this stage, if a miscarriage were to happen there really isn't any way to prevent it (I pretty much figured that was the case).  They drew about 12 vials of blood and we'll go over the results when I see her again.  When (not if!- I'm thinking positively!) we see the heartbeat in two weeks, the chance of miscarriage goes down from about 15% (out of all pregnancies) to about 1-5%.

So... it's going to be a nervy two weeks!  My husband and I are in the frame of mind that whatever happens now is out of our control- but... you know.  Stress never helps anything, so I'm going to do my best to stay cautiously optimistic.  smile.gif

Gemini13 - I will keep you and your baby in my prayers! keep thinking those positive thoughts :)

AFM - I am staring to feel sick but not nearly as bad as last time. Really, I just feel a bit queesy if I have not eaten in a while.  I am also cretiting the B-6 which I am tking this time and was not last time.

Gemini- Ive been reading up on when the heartbeat is visible, because I have my ultrasound at 6w3d next week.  The results seem VERY mixed!  Some people don't see a heartbeat, then see it just a few days later.  Some people see it at 6w1d.  I wouldn't worry if I was you!  Im trying to prepare myself in case we don't see it...so I don't have a freak out (which I am prone to).

Thanks ladies.  smile.gif  I'm definitely not freaked out about not seeing the heartbeat yet- I knew it would probably be too early.  But of course, it would have been a HUGE reassurance!  But I still feel much so better after seeing that the baby 1- actually exists, 2- isn't ectopic, and 3- is developing at the proper rate.

@ Gemini: Oh, sweetie, it's going to be a rough couple of weeks for you, I'm sure.  Hugs to you.  I was asked today if I'd like an u/s next week, or one the following week when we'd see the heartbeat.  Umm.  The following week.  If there's a chance at a heartbeat, I want to see *that* one.  I'm still unsure of when conception occurred since there's a missing IUD involved, but according to my HCG numbers, I'm about 5 weeks.  I'm hoping that 7 weeks will show a clear heartbeat, and I'm not risking it with the 6-week mark.  I hope everything turns out well!

Hi beautiful mummies to be,

My name is Krystle and I'm pregnant with baby number 2, EDD is November 18th (I think) I have a scan tomorrow which will hopefully make that clearer. I'm in New Zealand and this is the only due date forum that I've found and it looks neat so I'd love to join!

ADD ME PLEASE:  Hi, my name is Abra.  We were ttc for about 6mo, but my cycle had been off because of breastfeeding.  This will be baby #3 for us.  My EDD is 11/21/11.

My morning sickness is finally starting to kick in as well, but my breasts still don't hurt at all which is strange for me (I guess it's a good thing since I'm still nursing though).  Along with that I've been very dizzy lately, HUNGRY, thirsty like you wouldn't believe and tired.

This is my first pregnancy that we've had a minor scare.  While I was on vacation last week I had a gush of bright-red blood which quickly tapered off into light, brown spotting (and then stopped).  I went in for an early u/s just to make sure everything was okay.  While it was still a day or two too early to see the heart-beat, everything looked fine.  I still feel very pregnant, which I guess is a good sign.  I'm still waiting to find out if I'll need to go for another u/s next week.  My midwives are pretty liberal about these things, so it'll probably be up to me.

ETA:  Since everyone is talking about when the heart-beat is visible, I will share what my u/s showed yesterday...  I am roughly 6 weeks pregnant, I was measuring 5w5d, so pretty much right on.  There was no fetal pole or heart-beat yet, but everything else looked good and normal.  She said that if I came back next week for another u/s that the heart-beat would likely be beating.  If I had know that there wouldn't be a hb yet, I probably would have waited a few more days for this u/s..

ONE MORE, please add me too!  My name's Em and I got my BFP at 34 years old and after 2 months TTC.  This is our first pregnancy and we are beyond happy!  Our due date is 11/25 based on last period.

I haven't had any real symptoms, except I feel exhausted...all I want is to NAP.  Was a little disapointed to find out the womens center didn't want me to come in until 4/18 when i'm 8 weeks...we weren't really expecting a BFP so early in trying so i'm still currently looking for natural birth friendly center or facility and a mw I click with (if anyone has central VA reccomendations...let me know!)

Hi, all newcomers. MAN, I'm behind.

HOWEVER, I'm off work AND school today, so I will add everyone as soon as DH leaves for work!!!

Hello all!

This is baby#2 for us and EDD is 11/16/11. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in early December after 8 months of ttc. I will be 39 in July so I really hope this works out (I KNOW IT WILL!!!) because this may be my last hurrah!

I had an early scan last week. I am measuring 6 weeks 1 day and there was no heartbeat yet. I know that seeing a heartbeat should be reassuring, but after my last experience, I can't say I will rush out and get another scan in a week or 2 just to see a heartbeat. Last time I saw a heartbeat at 6weeks 5 days and 1 week later was msicarrying and the scan showed the baby had died about 1-2days after I saw that heartbeat - so seeing it now really wouldn't be all that comforting to me. I think Ill just keep a positive attitude and go with the flow :)

Okay. I THINK I got everyone. Please let me know in bold if I missed anything!

----------UPDATED TO HERE-----------

My first appointment is still 10 days away. I'm still convinced that I'm going to go in there and he's going to call me crazy. Yes, I've taken 30 positive tests and yes, I've almost missed two periods, but my lack of symptoms and lack of doctor appointments confirming the pregnancy make me wonder. NO morning sickness for me... Sore boobs, yes. Food aversions, yes. Fatigue, yes. But those could all be in my head... BLAHHH.

Does anyone want to take over the thread next month/week? Depending on traffic, I don't know if we need to go down to weeks or if we should wait another month. I guess I'll let the next threadkeeper decide. =)

At least you've been to the doctor once though to confirm the pregnancy! I haven't even done that.

And I'm not apple shaped or whatever, but I swear to God I have quadruplets in there... I'll take a picture and show you... 7w3d... First pregnancy... I even "tucked back" my fat. I feel so huge, it's depressing. My pants are all tight and just, blah.

Starting stats: 5''4, 145lbs.

Now: 155lbs... O_o I blame that partially on the fact that I quit smoking and that generally causes weight gain, as well. Mmm... Also that I can't go more than two hours without eating before I feel like I'm going to die.

Nicole- my baby bump STARTED bigger than that!  Lol.  When your on pregnancy #3 things just kind of...are...the way they are.

My BMI was always in the high normal range, but I had constant "mommy tummy" since my first pregnancy.  I had surgery in December and gained about 10 pounds after (not too much on someone my height), and now I can already feel the stretch on my jeans!

I'm with you!  I'm another one that starts gaining weight before I even find out I'm pregnant.  Some people just hold on to every ounce while they're growing a baby.  Luckily I've always lost it PP from breastfeeding!  :)  I'm 6w and my pants are all getting uncomfortable.  I think I'm going to dig out my maternity clothes this weekend and start wearing some of my small pants.  In my last pregnancy I got HUGE right away, but then it slowed way down and I just ended up being normal sized at the end.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/abrahartley/sets/72157610885038190/

Please add me, due 11/16. This is baby # 2, we tried for three months.

We just hired our midwife yesterday!! DH and I went for our consult and we really like her. Which is a good thing, because she is the only legally practicing hb midwife in the area. I realized my husband is clueless when it comes to anything birth, but I have been researching this stuff since my son was a baby. My first prenatal is the 13th at nine weeks. Does anyone know when you can start to hear the heartbeat with a doppler? We probably wont get an u/s until around 20 weeks, and since my appointment is so early we probably wont hear it for awhile.

Nicole, your belly is cute. I still can't see any sign of a bump yet. With my first I didn't show until way later, strangers didn't start saying anything to me until like 32 weeks. I even went to the er at 21 weeks and no one there thought I was pregnant. This should be interesting to see when I show this time.

Abra, I loved the belly shots. I think I am going to do that this time. Which reminds me I need to get my 7 week shot today.

Can you add me, based on my calculations my dd is November 18, although last time they moved it back a week after the ultrasound (and I delivered a week after the original date!).

Mother to an amazing, lovable, active 13 month old.

We weren't trying (actually attempting to prevent), but someone had other plans.

I am hoping to have a VBAC/HBAC, but will wait to see what the midwives say.  I had planned a homebirth last time, and nearly made it, but was exhausted after being awake for 40 hours and labouring for 24, the midwives recommended transfer after I was 9 cm for too long.  Almost too typical story of epi (I actually fully dilated before it kicked in) -> not being able to feel to push -> baby's heart rate dropping every time I started pushing -> emergency Cesarean.  Having been through a birth now, I know there are a couple things I would do differently if given the option, so I hope they'll at least let me try for another homebirth (we live literally 5 minutes from the hospital), and at the very least a vbac at the hospital.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better.
