Once GBS + always GBS +?

I was GBS positive with my first baby.  Does that mean I will be with my future pregnancies?  Is there anything I can do to help prevent it?  Thanks!

I was GSB positive with both, but my midwife says it doesn't always work that way.  I did some Chinese herbs toward the end of my pregnancy and midwife said it is successful quite a bit of the time.  Unfortunately, it did not work in my situation.  I decided to do the hibicleans wash while in labor.

I was GBS positive with my first, but I tested negative with my second.  My doctor went ahead and gave me the medicine during labor with my second, just to be safe I guess.

Apparently your GBS status can change in a matter of weeks, so no, you aren't necessarily going to be positive again.  I have read about some methods for trying to test negative, but I can't remember what they used.

I was positive with my dd, but didn't know it until 24 hours since she was born before my 36 week visit and I hadn't been tested until I went to the hospital unexpectedly.  I refused antibiotics (during labor before we knew the test results, and for dd after we had them).

I honestly can't remember with ds.  Again he was born early, so I was tested at the hospital while in labor.  I think it was negative.

I was negative for the first two, positive for the third, and am negative again this time, so you definitely won't automatically be + again.  I was worried about it this time, but very relieved to hear I was negative this time.
