Healthy habits...

Thread Starter

I've recently started adding some healthy habits to my life and trying to get a sense of routine regarding my personal self-care. I'm making a list of habits that I will eventually incorporate into my routine and I'm blanking...can you all help me? I've got a 2 y/o and a 9 m/o, a gym membership, a recumbant bike, my DH cooks most meals, and am really overweight (so running 10 miles a day just isn't going to happen!). Thanks for your help!!

I'm off to bed, so this is off-the-cuff (what I do daily):

walk every single day (I started by sticking a timer in my pocket for 5 minutes several years ago. I walk 2-3 miles a day now.)

drink 60-70 oz of water

dry brush my body before showers

meditate (a few minutes at the beginning and end of my day -- during that magical between-sleep-and-wakefulness time)

Best wishes!

Some habits I've built over the last couple years:

-do something active every day, progressively challenge myself (every week I add a little time or intensity)

-try to get fresh greens into at least 2 meals a day

-spend less time online and more time with real life friends

-get 7-8 hours of sleep every night

-eat only real food

-don't drink my calories

-focus on my accomplishments, not my appearance

I'm sure I could think of more but I, too, am off to bed.
