Having my first child, should I get a bigger car?

We currently own a Chevy Aveo and due to have our first baby in June.  My mom had helped us with getting this car as money was and is still pretty tight.  Money will be really tight once the baby gets here.  Should we get a bigger car?  My husband thinks we should.

If so, should we get a new car now while I'm pregnant or wait until our baby boy gets here?

I have to admit that right after I got a positive pregnancy test I ran out and traded my little boxter for a Volvo SUV.  LOL, it just made the whole "oh geez, I'm gonna be a mom" thing more real to me.

I mean, nothing says "mom car" like a Volvo :)

If you can fit a rfing car seat in your car I see no reason to get a bigger car unless you want to.

Here's a good link to a search on Car-Seat.Org about Aveos.  Looks like lots of parents have gotten good RF installs of convertible seats in their Aveos.  I'd save the money and keep the car you have.  You just might need to spend more time searching for that "perfect" fit when you're ready for a RF convertible.

I have an Aveo and a MyRide 65 and it fits just fine. We've been able to sit 2 adults in the back seat with the car seat too. I would keep it as long as possible (I have to admit it drives me nuts to see someone with 1 kid and a SUV/van lol... I'm sure everyone has their reasons but my own plan is to wait until we have more than 2 kids to get such a big gas-guzzler... you'll save a lot of money with a smaller car!)
