Confused on how to buy.  I know to get the med size as both my dogs are under 50lbs, but both their fur length is right at 2" on the longest part, some areas shorter

- and the website says "under two inches = short"  "over 2 inches is long".  

Never used one and not sure if it makes that much difference.  Anyone??

I'd buy the one for 2 inches or less. I have looked at them, because some do recommend them for one of my breeds but I haven't used one though, I just use a shedding blade.

got one on AMAZON for 16.99 - its an old version - but I called the company and they said the only difference was the handle - so I went with it.

My dog has longer hair (I think its the probably border collie in him) and I LOVE the furminator! I don't think he does though :) Seriously it gets out so much hair. I got mine on ebay for about $20.
