Hey, I recently discovered the article "6 Little Known Signs of Adrenal Fatigue" on The Healthy Home Economist's Blog. I have almost every sign!! Particularly the hollow cheeks and lines in the fingertips. This was actually a very welcome revelation for me to find that this may be what is ailing me, because after the birth of my 2nd DC, I suffered from some sever fatigue, and thought it was maybe linked to my thyroid, as it runs in my family, but my recent thyroid level check was normal. So I just didn't know what to do from there. I started having green smoothies daily (for a while, but I've slacked now for a long time) and that did help, so I thought perhaps I was just very anemic, and sleep deprived because my DC was a poor sleeper.
Welllllll... I got pregnant again (I'm due in a couple of weeks now) and started taking my normal pregnancy regimen of Floradix, with a lot of improvement. But I still wasn't myself. I've relied heavily on coffee and occasional colas and sweets to keep my energy level up enough to keep up my house and take care of 2 little ones, 3 and under. Whenever I would try to omit the caffeine or sugar, I would be debilitatingly fatigued, so I knew something still must be wrong. It couldn't be normal to be so tired just because you missed your coffee.

So that's where I am now. I read this article about 2 wks ago, and since then, I've cut out 95% of the caffeine I was having, and I'm avoiding anything with HFCS, opting only for small amounts of natural sweeteners. I am feeling a lot better. Much more stable, less anxious, less moody, etc.... And my eyes don't have that hollowed-out, sunken look anymore! Yay!! But my energy is still low, particularly in the mornings. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this just normal for the first little while? I expected it for the 1st week or so, because my energy would be less than if I'd had coffee, but it just seems like I can't get my motor going! Are there certain things to help encourage adrenal restoration, besides avoiding the things that hurt them? Please tell me it gets better!

For anyone with input, thanks in advance!

P.S. Yes, I am 37.5 weeks pregnant, so I know it is normal to be a little more tired than usual, but I just don't feel like that is the problem. I can get motivated enough to cook and clean a meal, but then I just go sit on the couch and can't muster the "umph" to do anything requiring much activity (which is why I'm here on the computer right now instead of folding my laundry! lol), when normally, I would be buzzing around the house, taking care of things, engaging with my kids, etc.
