My DD is almost 2 and the only way I've ever put her to sleep is via nursing. She also wakes up at night to nurse back to sleep. Any tips on how I can get this to stop?

Nursing to Sleep Question?
Are you wanting this to stop because you don't think she should be dependent on nursing to get back to sleep? Or has it become too exhausting for you to do this each time? I personally believe thay many babies/toddlers need that comfort of nursing in order to go to sleep. I believe that on their own time, they will begin to learn how to fall asleep without nursing. But, my son is only 2 years 2 months, and still "nurses" to sleep (actually takes a bottle, not breastfeeding any longer) so I can't speak from experience. If nursing to sleep makes your DD happy and you're fine with it, then I say just keep doing what works.

You need a game plan.
How will you get her to sleep instead? Rocking, cudling, laying with her in bed, music, soft lights, white noise?
What will you do when she gets up in the middle of the night when you are half-asleep and it is easier to give in? Will you get up and rock with her? Will she just get put back in her bed after a cuddle?
