If my line-dried prefolds are crunchy...

...do I need to strip them??

Our weather was sunny today for the first time coinciding with diaper laundry, so I took advantage. The stains are pretty muc gone, but the prefolds are STIFF and rough.  Normal? Or residue??

In case it matters, they're LL bleached.

Normal. That's why I hate line drying diapers.

Totally normal. We line dry all of our diapers, but before I put a prefold on the baby I'll sort of rub it on itself really vigorously for a couple of seconds. That makes it super soft—you'd never be able to tell if it was line dried or if it came from the dryer.

i may be the freak here, but i like to iron line-dried prefolds. they get so hard and crunchy, and ironing them for 30 seconds makes them really soft and nice!

Thanks ladies! We've been dealing with some residue, and I think I finally got under control, but then they were crunchy.  Whew.

I toss my line dried dipes in the dryer for a few minutes to soften them up.
