First off, my almost 8 month old DS is healthy, happy and attaining milestones on time. Good weight, appetite and sleep patterns.Â
Â
With that said, he isn't eating solids for us. We began at 6.5, when his tongue thrust reflex disappeared  and was showing signs of interest in our food. We decided to try baby led weaning and offered banana and avocado (in the mesh bag thingy), apple and acorn squash. He seems to have a very sensitive gag reflex; of which, I understand that is more forward when they are young and slowly descends as they get older. He enjoys playing with the food and has good dexterity (pincer grasp) when bringing food to his mouth but once it reaches the back of his mouth (tongue) he gags (grimaces and sometimes shivers, as if he had a bite of lemon).Â
Â
Any other momma's have their children do this? I'm thinking he is not ready yet but am still offering food every other day, so as to practice and discover foods.
Â
TIA
