Nursing and pg

Did your milk dry up? When? Did you wean because you were pg?

Ds2 will be 2 when I'm 5 mos pg. My bf'ing minimum is 2yo (my max is 4yo), but other than that I'm open to anything. Ds1 nursed until he was 3.75yo, but ds2 doesn't seem to "need" to nurse nearly as much as ds1 did. I don't have any actual plans as far as when (if?) I'll wean ds2, I guess I'll just go with the flow.

Just not sure what to expect from nursing while pregnant!

I had a gradual switch from milk to colostrum, which was complete at about 20 weeks. I didn't wean, and DD (22 months) is still nursing as I am 40 weeks. my LLL leader said that about 60% of toddlers wean during pregnancy. they don't like the taste or lack of milk. it just depends on your toddler's personality and needs.

Ds2 was born in April and Ds1 nursed until Dec 1st. I guess I was about 6 months pregnant when the milk dried up and it began to hurt when he nursed.

My DS did wean himself while I was pregnant.  I was the same as you - unsure of what would happen and open to tandem nursing if that is what my son wanted to do...but my supply definitely dropped at about 4-5 months.  I was about 6 months pregnant when DS stopped entirely (DS was 26 months).  When that happened he told me quite matter of factly that mommy's milk was "all gone" and weirdly didn't even seem bothered by it - just told me like it was a fact and never asked about it ever again!  lol
