Dehydrator: Excaliber vs Stainless Steel ?

These are the two I'm considering

Stainless Steel one

Excaliber

From reading the previous threads it seems the excaliber is really popular but I really like the idea of the stainless steel instead of plastic.

Anyone have the stainless one?

You can get SS racks for the Excaliber. Reading the reviews on the one you linked, i wouldnt buy it. But i also love my Exc.

It's not specifically the racks that are the issue, the frame is also steel. I'm not really worried about 1 negative review on Amazon, I've been on the manufacturers website.

I have the TSM. I've had it for about a year and a half and I don't think I have one complaint about it, except maybe the temperature marking on the dial. Really though, all it takes is a little math to figure out what temps are at each marking and then you are good to go...don't know why they didn't just put a few more numbers on there in the first place ?  I have the stainless racks, a few mesh inserts and some of the non-stick liners. I dry sprouted wheat pretty much every week and otherwise I use it for yogurt, apple slices, veggies, herbs, granola, proofing bread dough and I'm sure some other stuff I'm forgetting. I was happy with the idea of an Excalibur but my dh really wanted something that wasn't plastic and I'm happy we got it (but I've never seen a bad review for the Exc.). It runs pretty quietly and when I use a thermometer to check the temp accuracy it's always very close (it kind of cycles so it can be a little higher or lower but not much). Feel free to let me know if you have any questions !
