Giving weaned toddler breast milk for a cold?

My 19 month old (who is weaned) has a cold, and It just occurred to me that I could pump and give him some breast milk in his sippy cup to help him get over it faster. Has anyone tried this, is there anything to it?

Go for it!  When my oldest child was about 3-3.5 years old, he started having a lot of food intolerances.  We gave up dairy/gluten for 7/8 months.  As such, he really needed alternate sources of calcium, and cost was an issue.  I ended up pumping breastmilk for him, since I was already nursing a baby. He took expressed milk in a cup for a couple of months, I think.  It worked out well...though I did get some negative feedback from family.  Go for it!  thumb.gif

I gave my much older child (lol) some pumped milk the other day for his cold. I gave him the option of chicken broth or breastmilk and he choose breastmilk. It would certainly help.
