My 7.5 month old is only 14 pounds, about 3rd %ile.   She was born at 8lbs 1oz. Neither my husband not I nor my older child were this small in the first year (we are all on the small side now, though).  For the first 4 months, she would occasionally scream and refuse to nurse.  I eventually attributed that to a forceful letdown because often she would sometimes be fine when I stopped trying to nurse her or set her on the ground.  I did try a dairy- gluten- soy- egg- free diet and I'm not sure I saw much of a difference and she was fine when I went back to eating normally.

She now eats normally and with the exception of sometimes pooping 3 or 4 times in a day, everything seems normal.  She isn't excessively fussy, doesn't spit up, and is pretty ahead of the game with motor skills (started crawling in the traditional sense at 6 months, but was moving before that, and by 7 months was also pulling up on furniture).  She doesn't have any skin problems, hasn't really been sick much.  It really is just the fact that she has been steadily dropping on the charts and has only gained 1 pound in the past 2.5 months now that she has become very mobile.

The ped wants to do testing if she continues to drop and at this rate, I think she will.  Any thoughts?
