Mars needs Moms

Hi there,

I love the book and bought it way before I knew they were making a movie out of it. My kids love it as well and we read it many times a day. Needless to say I was super excited to take my son (4yrs) to the theatre to see it. I thought it was a great message and a great first movie out at the theaters. However, I have heard that even though it is rated G, it is kinda dark. I do not want to take my ds if they have put a dark spin on it. Anyone else hear about this movie? Has anyone seen it? If so, what were your thoughts on it? TIA

I took my 7 and 10 y.o. dds to see it, they didn't like it at all, and neither did I.  The image of a huge needle aiming into the sleeping mom's head was scary, and the peril the mom and the boy were in at the end was just too stressful!  We all cried:(   !!!  My older dd said,"I want to sue the director of that movie!" :)

I thought it was rated PG.  I would not recommend for a 4 yr old.

We have the book but it looks very different from the movie! To the point where I'm not sure that the idea of the book would even be in there!
