How did you calculate your EDD and when did you deliver?

I am UPing and I calculated my EDD by my LMP which are very regular. I am 40 +5 weeks. I am just wondering when you delivered and if you used your LMP or knew your conception date?

I knew both my conception date and the date that I ovulated. I delivered right on the due date that I calculated (280 days from date of ovulation). I kept telling everyone that every baby is different and that only 5% come on their due dates, and then I proved myself wrong, LOL!

Are you feeling good?

I feel great. Wonderful actually. No braxton hicks, no discomfort, still gave my mucous plug. I was wondering about where women got their EDD and when they delivered and when they delivered because I knew a woman who delivered at 44 weeks according to her LMP, but according to her conception date (which she knew bc she was TTC) it was actually 41 weeks. Now I'm curious smile.gif

I have always calculated by LMP. I knew conception date w/ my 5th baby on. I have delivered baby every time before that due date based on LMP. I usually ovulated around day 12-16. Longest was 39 and 5 days and shortest was 37 even.

With both of my babies, I used LMP because charting showed ovulation at day 13-14. First was 40+1 and second was 40+4.

With my first I had no signs of going into labor until the day of, although I think I was dilated to about a 3.  I didn't see any signs of a mucus plug, with second I saw signs of it for the 3 days leading up to it. So sounds like babe is happy and healthy in there, but beware, when it's time, it's time, even if there are no signs before hand.

My first was a surprise, so I used LMP (didn't know much about fertility then). I had very regular 27 day cycles though. She was born at 40+2 (went into labor on my EDD though, it was just long). With my son I was charting and had a clear ovulation on cd 14 (still had 27 day cycles), so either LMP or conception would have been the same EDD. He came really early though at 36+5 (labor started 36+4). I'm hoping to at least get to 39 with this one:)

I think every baby is just different, but some moms do tend to "cook" their babies a tad longer:)

Looking forward to hearing your birth story, btw! :D

With my son I gave birth on my EDD but I took castor oil bc I was impatient greensad.gif I felt like I would have stayed pregnant longer if I didn't take it. This time I am letting this baby bake as long as it wants to. I am really excited for the birth too, I might even record it on video and maybe share that, haven't decided yet though :)

LMP gives me May 8th this time and the day I am pretty sure I conceived gives me May 10th as my EDD.

With my second LMP gave me Dec. 28th as EDD and my cycle length lead me to believe it would be January 2nd as an EDD. I delivered slightly before the LMP EDD though.

With my first I went according to LMP and delivered a couple weeks before my EDD. I had no idea about my cycle length or the conception date.

It does sound like your body just takes longer to cook 'em. :) At least you are feeling good. That helps.
