Did you spot constantly or on and off? How long? Was it bright red blood? I am spotting here and there, noticing it every couple days. The first time was after I started treating a yeast infection so the doc told me to discontinue the cream but now I'm still spotting. Maybe the infection itself is causing it, though it's not bothering me and I wouldn't have known I have it if not for the labs at the dr office. My doc said spotting in early pregnancy is common and there's obviously not much they can do about it. I'm just trying to put my mind at ease. I'm 10 weeks.

10 weeks was exactly when I spotted. It's been 6 years so I don't remember if it was red or brown, but I do remember it was 10 weeks for sure.

It's funny, this is how my DH got onboard for homebirth. I didn't have a midwife yet because we were still discussing it (I was going easy so he'd come around). But when I spotted, I made an appointment with the local OB group. The OB there was awful. Like, we asked if spotting was common and if it was necessarily concerning and he replied "it's never a good sign" which I was already sure couldn't be true. Also he did an ultrasound without talking about it, and worse, he did a vaginal ultrasound without asking me or even telling me what he was going to do - just lubed up the wand and jammed it up there. I sure wish I had given him a piece of my mind, but like every other woman on the table, nervous and vulnerable, I just shut up and put up. And then after he started on the scare tactics, and he wrote High Risk on my chart. In the car on the way home, my husband said "call the midwife, that was just BS."
Â
Anyway, I had told my mother about the spotting and she had called her woman network. She reported back to me after my appointment that she had spotted with both of her pregnancies, her sister ditto, her best friend ditto, her other friend ditto, her neice ditto. So every woman she polled had a 100% spotting rate. And the OB told me it's "never" a good sign? Well, anyway, I hope this reassures you. Obviously I know sometimes it's not a good sign, but overall you're in good company.

I'm between 4-7 weeks, I think and nice to read your post as I'm experiencing light pink spotting. A bit of reassurance!
