at what point do I let the second nap go? - Page 2

So far, Cecilia has had much more sleep at night since we went to one nap. Last night she was up from 1-2:30 am which sucked, but she still slept a solid 12 hours-- 5.5 before that wakeup and 6.5 after. So I think that as we get into a better routine, it's just going to be much nicer at night. She generally slept maybe 7-8 hours at night before, if we were lucky.

edit: I'm editing this post because OH MY GOD, two days in a row, she has taken 40 minute naps and that is IS. I'm now terrified that I'm not going to get a daytime break at all anymore, and I guess that's the trade off for good nighttime sleeping. Sigh...

My son is only nine months old and his naps are all over the place. Generally, there's only one now. If it's a good day, it can be 90 minutes to 2 1/2 hours, sometimes three, though this is rare. On a bad day, we get two half hour specials or no nap at all.

He has good nap days and good nights and bad naps days and good nights and good nap days and bad nights and the real killer, bad nap days and bad nights. So yeah, it doesn't make much sense.

finally had a second nap today! One morning 2 hr and one afternoon starting at 3 one hr. Last night ( a one nap day) was a terrible night's sleep for us all so I will see how tonight goes. I imagine a later bed time but he is at least relatively cheerful right now- oh it is 7:00- not seeming ready for bed.

Well today was a 2 nap day. I put dd down for a nap at 10:30 because we had to be somewhere at 2, so neither kid would get a nap. She ended up sleeping until 12 and then after the event she fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep for close to an hour.

Needless to say, bedtime was a major PITA and she didn't go to sleep til closer to 8.

8 is a ridiculously early bedtime here! lol.gif That's why yesterday's 7:30 bedtime freaked me out. Tonight we're probably going the same route. Pray for me that it's as solid a night's sleep as last night! winky.gif
