This is my second cycle off of bcp and it has been CRAZY...I finally got the smiley face on my First Response OPK kit yesterday, on CD22 versus last month on CD17. Sorry if this is TMI but since so many of us are going through OPK agony and long cycles, I thought I'd throw this
Last month I got the smiley face on CD17. I always do this first-thing in the morning with FMU before i eat or drink anything and always at 6:00AM. I wasn't charting my BBT but I had all the signs:
CD16: Lots of general cramps, EWCM in the evening, sheer exhaustion
CD17: Smiley face:joy localized soft cramps that started on the lower left side of my abdomen and switched sharply to my right. These stayed with me a few days and were very sharp, and twisting. But we DTD that morning, then hubby went out of town that day!
CD18: Negative OPK but cramps seemed to relocate to only my right side.
CD31: Mid-cycle spotting and bloating so bad I had to unbotton my pants! Unfortunately I spend the entire 2 weeks very bloated, with some heartburn and indigestion and even acne toward the end. Then my period started the next day.
This month my cycle has been very painful. I started my OPK early at CD7 to the present (FMU at 6:00AM) and it's worth noting that I had several patches of EWCM If I went by my CM, I'd have thought I already ovulated but I didn't. We've been DTD since CD14 except CD16 and CD20.
CD9 to present CD23: Localized cramps only on the lower right side of my stomach. Mild acne breakout started at the same time (and continues) on my forehead and later my chest.
CD16 to CD18: Mid-cycle spotting and some light bleeding. I literally woke up that morning and my entire body (back included) cramped up. Painful and the spasms literally made it hard for me to breathe. The spotting/light flow stopped in three days but the full-body cramping kept going until CD20.
CD20: Did an OPK at 6:00AM and 8PM. By now I had started testing twice during the day b/c of my CM. It would go from EWCM to clear then back. Both OPK negative BUT my BBT stopped jerking around.
CD21: Tiny dip in my BBT but OPK at 6:00AM was negative. CM went from dry to clear that night.
CD22: BBT back up to what it was before dip, and then a positive OPK at 5:30AM AND a second OPK at 6:00PM. Again, my CM was dry during the day but became clear after 9PM. The only reason why I knew when this happened was because I could feel it and it was like clockwork.
CD23: Negative OPK at 5:30AM and no CM so far. Which makes me wonder if I had done another OPK the night of CD21, would it have been positive? This is my second positive OPK and the second one that was only positive for one day. Maybe it's not how I test but when?
