Please tell me your stories of a horrible 1st trimester followed by a great 2nd tri!

Ladies, I'm looking for some optimism right now. I feel horrible, and have for over a month (I'm 10w2d). I went from B6, to B6 and unisom, and finally went to zofran. Now I'm puking even with zofran, losing a bit of weight, and so tired I can barely function and handle work. In one month my field season starts for work, and I will need to be very physically active- and I'm petrified. It's my first field season in my new job, and I need to prove myself out there! My Mom and sister had great pregnancies for the most part, so I never saw this coming. I'm normally a very active person, and I still am regularly shocked at how much rest I require to be even somewhat functional. I see people running and walking in the early spring weather, and I get twinges of jealousy of being able to do things.

I need to hear some good tales of previous pregnancies (or friends or family, whatever- not picky!) where things started out rough, and ended up going really well.

Thanks in advance!

I didn't have morning sickness--what I did have was constant crushing hunger that I couldn't seem to feed for more than 30 minutes at a time, which made me feel horrible, it was hard to find foods that would fill me, and even when I had just eaten I still felt fatigued and generally lousy. This lasted from about week 6 through at least week 10 and then started to tail off. I have felt gradually better since then and have really been feeling pretty close to normal since probably about week 14--I may not have quite the energy that I used to, and I still need to eat more often and make sure to eat plenty of protein, but I'm fully functional again. (I'm now in week 26.) Everybody told me at the time that I'd feel better once the first trimester was over, but it was hard to focus on that when I'd never been through it before and it was all this big unknown!

I was sick as a dog for my first trimester. I never actually threw up, I was too nauseous to eat, and had horrible food aversions. I would be fine for the day, until I ate something, and then the horrible nausea would start and get progressively worse all day. At the worst, I literally could only stomach white bread and butter- the thought of anything else was enough to make me gag. I was exhausted, and felt barely sub-humanly functional. Then it started getting better. At around 12 1/2 weeks, I started getting breaks in the nausea, and some of the food aversions went away. By 14 weeks, I only had spots of nausea here and there, and my energy was back. By 16 weeks, the nausea was completely gone. I've felt great since. A bit tired, but I'm 43, pregnant, and still nursing a toddler, so I tend to think it's more from the combination.

I hope you feel better soon!
