Hi all....still waiting for baby and I'm 5 days over my DD. I know it's really not all that long to wait after a date, but it feels like forever! Yesterday afternoon and night I was having contrax that were not BH but they must have stopped during the night when I was sleeping b/c I didn't wake up with them. That got me bummed  :(

A friend from church suggested nipple stimulation, but I don't know if I really want to do anything to make my body go into labor, especially since this is my first VBAC, know what I mean? I don't know how open my cervix is but I do know that the baby has moved down, probably further down than any of my others. I also went to the chiro to get alligned so I'd be ready over the weekend.

Words of encouragement and prayer would be greatly appreciated!

Thinking of you! I went early with my daughter and my son was just born at 40+4 after several evenings of what I thought was "it" and then would stop after several hours.. The morning he was born I woke up with contractions and there was no doubt in my mind that it was the day. I hope you're able to find peace as you wait.

You're getting so close!  Great move going to the chiro, I plan to keep that up as well (I'm 37w).  I went into labor at 38w3d with DS so I can imagine how every day past your due date seems like an eternity - I need to prepare myself for that mentally these next few weeks.

Remember that this babe will come precisely when God has designed - and not a moment sooner OR later.

Good Luck!!  I had a vbac 2 weeks ago.  It's the most amazing thing in the world... definitely worth the wait!!  I was 8 days over due.  You can totally do it!

Just a few words of advice that my midwife gave me (and I totally ignored!): no natural induction techniques will work unless you are at least 2 cm and 80% effaced.  I went to the chiro, acupuncture, and reflexology.  I did a bit of nipple stimulation, but then my midwife said to avoid it b/c of hyperstimulation of the uterus.  Nothing I did worked, but I eventually got a foley catheter that worked beautifully.  Hopefully, you're dilated more than I was and you can get the baby out soon.  :)

Good luck!!! Baby will be here really soon :) I had my VBAC last month, and I was 8 days "overdue" as well.

Cool! I think I just found the answer to my question. Congrats on your VBAC!

Hang in there mama!  I went into labor with my VBAC at 41+1--he was born 41+2.  I did massage/reflexology and chiropractic the day before I went into labor and acupuncture while in early labor.  I had a day of contractions 7 minutes apart for about 8 hours on Thursday, nothing for 4 days, and then a long early labor starting the 5th day after.  Warm-up labor is really calm with VBAC.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Thanks so much! Tomorrow will be 41+1. I know I just have to be patient.....it's just hard when you go through the whole day and nothing happens whistling.gif

I woke up feeling great today and thought "maybe!", but alas, nothing has developed. Oh well.....it'll be soon enough I'm sure.

Thanks for the encouragement!
