please help - dairy and gluten reaction happening now, how can i help him?

hi ladies...

my 2.5 year old took several bites of a cream cheese sandwich today.  the fallout has begun, and i am anticipating a horrific few days.  tiny bits of gluten or dairy make for a very tantrum-y, gassy, flushed, crazed, night waking mess, so with a large amount of it in him, im really scared.

It happened 9 hours ago.  He is waking every hour, grabbing at his ears alot (headache?) sobbing uncontrollably, passing gas, tossing and turning.

I gave him digestive enzymes right after it happened, and a few rounds of hylands colic remedy, arsenicum album, and an epsom salt bath.

is there anything else i can give him?  we are supposed to go on vacation tomorrow.  im sad for all of us!  hoping to just keep him comfortable and that it passes quickly...

any food for thought helps!  thank you.

we do bentonite clay after a reaction. It usually keeps the reaction to 1 day instead of 3, for my son. We got it at Whole Foods. Great Plains might be the brand. I can go look if you're interested.

Mine says Great Plains Bentonite Detox (Yerba Prima). The instructions say shake well. 1 Tbs. with liquid once of twice on empty stomach. It does not say adult vs. child. For my DS, who's 10yo and 60 lbs., I do the 1 Tbs. in about 4-6 oz. of water. I do it with him and make it a race to see who can drink it faster. Some people like the taste. Some don't. Since he's only half that size, I'd say only a half a Tablespoon. Panserbjorne who's on this forum sometimes is an advocate of clay (she has a thread about clay and probiotics that's pretty active right now). She likes other kinds of clay.

I'm milk intolerant and accidently had a bite of someone else's potato salad instead of mine and asked what the ingredients were. Her's had a stick of butter in hers. I went home immediately and took a dose of the clay and I had no reaction whatsoever.

Also good to keep around the house are the Gluten-ease enzymes.  They have enzyme help for casein in them too.  We usually alternate these enzymes and clay.  Also, upon occasion I have megadosed magnesium, which causes diarrhea.  It seemed like that got the stuff out of our system sooner.

 Thank you so much ladies!

The Bentonite Clay was amazing...

His reaction was about 2 days, instead of 4!

I am so thankful for this forum.

I will look into Gluten-ease!  I have seen it before.  I could probably use it...

Thanks again.

This is so interesting.  I am nervous that my 14 month old might have eaten a goldfish cracker off of the ground today, but I didn't see!  Blasted other kids crumbs! If she starts to react, I may be tempted to try the clay...
