Did childbirth/BF'ing/etc. permanently change your body? (Decluttering clothes) - Page 2

My hips got slightly wider (though, I've gotten in better shape post-baby than prior to), my shoe size when up by a half size (that didn't happen until my 3rd baby, though, and it hasn't gone up since then either) and my boobs got smaller by 2 cup sizes (when I'm not lactating, that is).

I got rid of my old clothes several years back and I don't miss them. They'd all be out of style anyway.

I'm only 2 years postpartum, but I'm fairly sure that my ribs and hips will always be bigger. Bra size I'm certain will go down after I'm done nursing, but those won't be the same either (actually, the get saggier with every pregnancy according to one study I read). Personally, I decluttered all of my too small/don't fit right anymore clothes. Even if you do go down in size, those styles probably won't even be what's "in" or what you like to wear anymore. I don't know why I held on to these huge flowing skirts for so long even though I really hated them.

My feet increase a half size with EACH pregnancy.  For that fact alone, I am scared to even think about Baby #4!   My nieces now have some really nice, almost brand new sneakers, berks, and cowboy boots.

My closet is in desperate need of a purge.  I'm going to get rid of almost everything that doesn't fit RIGHT NOW--just save a few favorites for transitional periods.  Once I lose the baby weight (probably 18 months from nowredface.gif), I'm going to want to go shopping for new things--not wear old stained five year old things from my closet.  Probably not the most frugal plan but it works for me.

Don't worry too much... mine are still the same size.  Everyone's different.  That said, my belly is bigger than it was... I'm hoping it'll come back together with time.  Last time it was mostly together after 2 years (at which point I got pregnant again).  Right now, I'm a year out and still have the split in my abs... time will tell...

2 years later, I am pretty sure my rib cage is not going to get smaller again.  And I didn't think it was possible, but somehow my torso is longer than ever.  I have all these cute sweaters that I used to wear constantly and now they are like crop tops.

My body went back. And then I lost a bunch of weight and now nothing fits. Ack! It's been a good excuse to shop.....

My feet never changed size permanently. During pregnancy I needed wider shoes, but afterwards things went back.

I would just save the stuff you really love and get rid of the rest.

DD is 4.5 but I actually weigh less than I did even years before DD's birth.  Problem is, my parts moved all around and it is still hard to shop for clothes given the weird juxtaposition of my boobs, waist, etc.  It is so frustrating.  Sorry to say, I dumped most everything and decided to start over with a few quality pieces.  I feel better now that I'm wearing clothes that fit.

This is my biggest problem!! It's so weird!!

Well I still haven't gotten around to decluttering the closet (been sick a lot lately) but it's one of the next things on my list. However, I did get a chance to shop for new clothes that fit (I got a gift card!) and was shocked & dismayed to discover pretty much NOTHING fits me. I must be some really odd size. I don't have a single pair of pants that both fits comfortably AND looks good, although I did manage to find 1 or 2 new tops (not exactly my style but at least they fit!!!)

It might be if your boobs/belly are bigger?  My boobs used to be an A cup, but now (lactating) are a D cup... things are definitely cropped on me.  My belly is bigger too, which doesn't help anything.  Just a thought.  I know my torso isn't longer... and I have a really short torso so that shouldn't really affect anything... if anything I'd finally be "normal" in the torso, but I think it's just the extra space my boobs/belly need that make the difference.
