My Dr's office just called to tell me my HCG levels were 190,791 which is very high for 9 wks pregnant and should get an ultrasound to see if I am having multiple babies!  FREAKING OUT!!!!  I am having a home birth with no plans of having an ultrasound and no plans for twins!  I have been soooooo sick with this pregnancy, I was at the dr's to get on some nausea meds, thats how bad it is.  ANY THOUGHTS!!!!!

Best site for pouring over betas is betabase.info. Good luck!

Unless I'm missing something, the betabase data only goes to like 6 weeks and some odd days. The average beta at that time (for a singleton pregnancy) is 15,361. The highest reported (for a singleton pregnancy) is 131,472. For twin pregnancies the average at 6 weeks some odd days is 28,820. The highest reported for twins is 189,191. Since those numbers are still 3 weeks before what you tested at, I think 190,000 is still possible for a singleton. Or twins. LOL! No way to know without a thorough ultrasound!

This happened to me. It was the first sign my pregnancy wasn't normal :(  But on a good note, I went on to have a healthy pregnancy and now have a 5 year old son and I'm also currently 6 months pregnant!
