Best Budget Freiendly Slings

I am having my first this August, and I am researching the best baby wearing methods for us.

My husband will probably be the primary caregiver, and I have decided a pouch will be best for him, as they are simple and not fussy to use.  He has never worn a baby before.

I am thinking about a wrap or a ringsling for me.  I wore my siblings back in the '09s in a ring sling.  Goodness, they were ugly then!

I am just overwhelmed by the options available now!  My mum is super jealous of the choices I have.  The big issue I have is cost.  We (my husband, his sister, and myself) currently make it on my little income, so I can't buy anything pricey.

So, ladies, what are the best options for a safe, cheap, babywearing experience?

I wish I could sew them, but I have a fine motor skill disorder, which makes sewing very painful. :(

There is a babywearing group in the DC area. You might connect with them to help you better decide what carrier will best meet your needs and that of your husband. Here is the link.

There are a number of sources to find a carrier at less than retail.

Thebabywearer.com has a for sale or trade forum, BabywearingSWAP a yahoogroup is another option and diaperswappers also has a forum.

Try your local craigslist, ebay and also ask the local babywearing groups for resources.
