smart ladies- here's a challenge for you

I am writing on behalf of my best friend so I won't get every detail perfect but here goes a try..

8 year old boy just diagnosed with kidney stones. This child has a history of every food intolerance known. Trouble started in infancy with severe reflux, followed by eating issues facililitating the use of a feeding tube at 20 months. His food allergies are not all classic- some show as gastro symptoms, some as redness, rashes etc. He does not eat dairy, gluten, soy, nuts, seafood, eggs, berries. So his diet is limited but his mom is a allergen-free chef and owns a shop devoted to allergy free food so he is getting mostly homemade, whole foods- although he does eat a lot of sugar (IMO)

He takes probiotics and calcium.

other health issues- hospitalized with pneumonia, eye muscle that gets "stuck"- not really sure what that is but he has been helped with a homeopathic remedy., seasonal allergies,

I don't think she has explored the Sals.histamine idea.

this child has been to a naturopath, homeopath, holistic md, regular md's, specialists, you name it.

Through it all- he is an amazing athlete and a very smart little boy.

Any takers?

not a smart lady, but have some cases of kidney stones in the family. Watch the calcium intake plus oxalates in the diet. They can contribute to the problem. The docs should be running tests to check for other deficiencies in the system. good luck to the little boy! Kidney stones are painful!

Yes to what the pp said about oxalates and calcium. I would stop the calcium immediately. If his body is not processing it correctly, it can form calcium oxalate crystals- aka kidney stones. Check out the Vitamin K yahoo group- they have a whole protocol for dealing with oxalates.
