I need help unlatching him.

My babe is loving to nurse right now.. all day long it seems. I used to be able to unlatch him easily by hooking a finger into his cheek. He now has 8 teeth and I can't do it that well now. I don't want him having my boobie in his mouth when he sleeps anymore or for comfort for to long. So how can I unlatch him? When I try he sorta clamps down a bit and my nipple will get scraped.

Isn't it fun? My 11 month old never wants to get off either. I try to wedge my pinky as far back there as I can. It is never pleasant and I have to break the latch every time. The only way I can get her to let go is to tickle her or hand her something interesting to hold. Then I quickly put her upright and she forgets to be mad.

Could you try just sliding the tip of your finger in to his mouth rather than all the way into his cheek? I think I just pull my son's lip a wee touch just to break suction then slide the nipple out, rather than going right in to his mouth. That might avoid the teeth!

really, i don't know how well i can tell you how to do it..  but it does take practice with the teeth..when i'm afraid of biting down- i slip my finger in and make sure its between my baby's gums (behind the teeth, when they only have 8ish teeth, trickier when they have all their teeth) and i kinda use my thumb on the same hand to push my nippl out of the mouth while my finger is between the gums to prevent clamping..  told you it was a bit hard to explain..
