I have various allergies to pollens but all foods are fine so far.  One of my sons has lots of food allergies.  Recently my mom just found out (at age 66) that she has developed a tree nut allergy.  She's as strong as a horse and eats a well balanced diet.  What can cause that?  Does it mean I could develop allergies later in life, too and just eat a nut bar I usually enjoy and fall dead?

If I try to catch colds once a year, will that help?  :)
