Thanks for posting.  Read this yesterday and was psyched as I kept DD2 RF'ing until about 18-20 mths and DH and my family were always giving me a hard time about it.  At least this validates what I already knew.

I've always switched at 12 mo's so I was glad to see this I will wait til 2 now!

I hope they come with some different car seats for it. Now, this was 9 years ago, but DD was/is so long and tall, that she would never fit in a car seat facing backwards at 2. I like the idea, but it might be hard to do with the up and coming one if it takes after it's sister.

just posted this on my website.  hoping my in-laws see it.  my FIL always makes a comment whenever he sees us.  last time it was, "when are you gonna turn her around, when her feet are touching the ceiling".  despite my MIL's attempts to keep his mouth shut (she and i have discussed the issue and she understands our decision to keep dd rear-facing) he still says something.

although, i'm guessing the article will have little impact on him because it recommends rear-facing until two and dd is nearly 4.  at the very least i hope someone else sees it and decides to wait to turn their little ones around.

Most new carseats for the past couple of years have accommodated extended rear facing, so you shouldn't have a problem finding a seat that will work for you.  :)

Oh, good! Like I said, it's been a while and we haven't actually gotten around to car seat shopping yet, so I'm a little out of the loop! :)
