Less hair while pregnant?

I'm not sure whether it's a cause for concern but I have certainly noticed a difference and it has weirded me out. I am 26 weeks along with baby #3 right now. I do not remember noticing this with either previous pregnancy. I have less/slower growing leg hair and it is also finer and a lot lighter- I usually have thick dark coarse hair around my ankles but it's now super fine and light. I have finer/less arm hair. My underarm hair is much slower growing. My eyebrows are lighter and the eyebrow hair is also much finer. I haven't noticed a difference with my waist length hair. It's normal for me to shed daily but I don't think it's been excessive. I take prenatals and an iron supplement daily. I had bloodwork done at 11 weeks which showed that my thyroid was fine. It was routine bloodwork (how I found out I was anemic)- not just to check my thyroid. Any ideas/suggestions? Am I freaking out over nothing or should I bring it up with my midwife?

it's totally normal for body hair growth to slow down during pregnancy--slower growth on my legs was one of the first clues for me that i was pregnant.  the hair on your head will probably grow faster, and not shed as much. in my first pregnancy, the hair on my head was shedding a lot, and was quite dry and broke easily, and they told me that was from being anemic.  it improved when i started iron (i like Floradix.)  but if it's just body hair, that is completely normal :)

Funny that you mention it.  I was just thinking about this earlier today!  I don't recall slower growing leg hair during my first pregnancy but I'm sure enjoying it now :)

And it only took me 7 months to notice ;)

Thanks for the input! I do feel better about it. You just read so much about more hair during pregnancy so it was really difficult to find info on less hair without it referring to after delivery.

I've had this, too!  Slower growing body hair and nails.  I can't tell what my head-hair is doing, but I know that I don't have to wax/shave as much as I used it.  It's truly a blessing for me, since I have PCOS and hair-growth has always been a problem, especially on my face.  :)

I had more initially, and then way less.  I was super happy because I am hairy to begin with.  I think it is all okay!
