Help! I don't know my due date. :(

Hi ladies!

I have been around this over and over and my doctor's office refuses to see me until April 11th (9wks) and I'm ready to get some answers! I was just wondering if any of you could offer me your opinions... no matter what they are.

Here's the thing... the start date of my last period was February 8th. Which puts me at a Nov 15 due date.

That period was one day long. Usually my periods are 3-5 days long. In addition... that period was Feb 8 - 10th (the 9th was the full day, the two around it were very light). My husband was out of town Feb 9th - 18th (aka no sex during that time). I had spotting on Feb 18th but had not had sex since before my last period. I have NEVER had spotting before and my periods are always right on time. It's possible the spotting was a total fluke, but it's a bit ironic that it happened the same time I got preggo. (Never been preggo before.)

In addition... it was carsickness (nausea) that actually made me buy a preggo test. I never get carsick and I have had steady nausea since that day (Mar 9th, my period was 2-3 days late). My sister thinks that is too early to be feeling nauseous and having such strong symptoms (breast tenderness, constipation, all things I was experiencing) and that I am a month further along than I think.

I kind of think the same thing... but I just have no idea. Plus I am busting out of my pants already and if I'm only at 6weeks (as opposed to almost 10) then that is DEPRESSING.

So... any feedback? What do you all think? I have a friend at church who said she had the same situation but her dr's never told her, so her son came 3 weeks early - at 8lbs. I hope they don't do that to me. :(

No, it isn't too early for symptoms or to be busting out of your pants.  My symptoms started really early on too.  I had extreme thirst, headaches and dizziness when I was like 4 weeks along and thought it was just that it was a warm day outside and the and breast tenderness and bloating made me really uncomfortable and since I had no reason to think I could even be preg. I chalked it up to AF on the way. Congrats and I think you may just have to wait and see.

I agree.  My symptoms start between 5-6 weeks and the bloating starts then as well...and none of my pants fit(though about 13 weeks my bloating goes away and my pants fit again and I look smaller then then I did at 6 weeks.)

I see that you'd like a homebirth...have you thought about contacting a Midwife instead of waiting on your doctors office?  They can usually order dating ultrasounds and may be helpful if you are wanting to see one anyways.

Rule #1: Always treat a worried mother-to-be. Preferably, treat her like a princess.

If someone won't see you, then they don't deserve your business. Find another doctor and tell them that your last FULL period was the month before, and that you think you are X weeks pregnant.

A dating scan sounds like your best bet to be really sure, but you'd need to do it fairly soon - they're only accurate in earlyish pregnancy. If you don't want a scan, maybe you could get your HCG levels checked to see what week of pregnancy they correspond to?

Also, yeah, you could totally be growing out of your pants already, even at 6 weeks. This pregnancy I actually "grew" (bloating), then shrank again as the bloating wore off, then grew again later... it was very peculiar.

Was your DH around 6-12ish days before your Feb 8 period? If you had sex then, the "period" could have been implantation spotting. That is, if I'm reading your post right - it's late and I have pregnancy brain combined with a general idiocy for dates. :p But implantation usually occurs 6-12 days after ovulation, and it's common for it to result in spotting, which can be heavy enough to mistake for even a regular period, let alone a light one.

Congrats! :)

Thanks so much for your responses!

Unfortunately - we don't have many options in my small town for doctors and midwives. Just two offices and I have been in touch with both of them.

The urgency is that I am a wedding photographer and I have three weddings booked in October... and I just don't know if I'm due mid-October or mid-November. Oh well... guess I just have to wait! Thanks for the input about the symptoms though! :)
