Ok, ladies, i haven't been able to post here yet but have i got a story for you!redface.gif

I woke up this morning at 39w and 6d soaking wet on my right side, I was sleeping on my right side. I immediately thought, OMG, my water broke! Yay! I wasnt having contractions though. I went and told my dh who was sleeping with my ds. I told him i didnt want to go to the hopital or anything since i wasnt having contractions. I've been having them on and off for days, im 5cm dilated, and 90% effaced. Anyway, i let my doula know that something was up and momens later i suddenly realized that my nightgown smelled...like urine. Oh yes...i think i wet the bed!

Now, im still not positive, but there hasnt been any leaking and i still went in a peed a lot after i had the thought that this might actually be pee. The stain on the sheets looks clear. Pretty sure its urine though. Ugh. Being preggers has made me an eighty year old woman!

Man, wish i hadnt gone in bragging to dh about my water breaking. Too bad i went a-texting about to my doula. At least i didnt call my parents to come over with ds! A bit on the embarrassing side this is...

OH MY GOSH! I hope to heck that it was really your water breaking! Let us know!

Dragonfly, he's only peed on you twice? Corbin gets me twice a DAY. And every pediatrician visit.

Hannah, that is the ultimate suck. greensad.gif

I've always had issues with dehydration and constipation, but breastfeeding has added some new twists. I am pooping rocks. Seriously. It's like gravel is coming out my ass. It has been like this for about three weeks - what gives?

i had a dream last night that I was pooping and throwing up at the same time. I was so relieved when I woke up that it was only a dream.

I was at a conference for 3 days-- wearing skirts and hose (!! maternity ones thank goodness) and anyway I think it kept everything so close and cozy that when I got home I was afraid my water might have broken, my underwear were so wet. But no, just general pregnancy-induced dampness.

And as for PP TMI... there should be tons of fodder for this thread.

Karli, after delivery before I was transferred to the maternity rooms, I was walking around to stretch and noticed a blood splatter on the window and the wall across the room of the labor/delivery room.  I thought of you and your explosive experience.  I asked DH and he was certain they were not there before I delivered.

I want to poop.  I'm taking colace, holding off on taking my iron because I am terrified with the stitches that it is going to hurt.  I'm even hanging on to my last couple doses of percoset just in case.  I haven't gone since before birth and the anticipation is killing me.

I take magnesium to ward off leg cramps but its a very effective laxative... and many of us are deficient in magnesium

and FWIW I was way worried about the stitches hurting after my first and actually it wasn't as bad as I had feared.

I usually pee like every 90 minutes (even when not pregnant) and nursing is amazing... is this what its like to be a normal person? To go 4 entire hours without peeing??? But yeah, VERY easy to get dehydrated with nursing. Make sure you are drinking tons. More than you think you ought to. I keep plenty of soda water around (for some reason I will drink much more fizzy water with lemon or juice than plain water). And bottles or cups of water around places where you get "stuck" with the baby (seats where you end up nursing/rocking, etc).

I'm the same way with the water! I love soda water with lime. I survived on Cliff bars and breakfasts that my mom would make for me when she came over in the mornings for the first month or so.

Karli, Are you taking Colace? I had a tear last time inside my bum, sorry, but that's what the thread is for right, from constipation and it was miserable. It felt like I was passing glass shards when I would poo. I recommend taking the colace for a looooonnng time to avoid this. Its fine now but it took a long time to heal.

That's interesting!  I have had very nice, easy poops since about 36 hours pp, and now I wonder if being on a magnesium IV at the end of labor and for 13 hours afterward helped with that.

No one prescribed Colace. They gave me one dose postpartum in the hospital and I proceeded to take the largest poop of my life afterwards (seriously terrifying in size, but surprisingly pain free). These pebble poops are just really worrisome and I feel backed up. No fun. greensad.gif
post #174 of 259
Pebble poops are just severe constipation. More fruits, more water. Dried fruits = good. Soda, coffee, beer, just more fluids. Colace if you want it. I think it's a good idea. Fiber pills can be good once you get going again, but I don't think it's a good idea to bulk it up until the exit is clear, IYKWIM.

And now its time for a "Adventures in breast pumping" story.

WHY DO MY BOOBS FEEL THE NEED TO SQUIRT ME IN THE FACE!!!?!?

Every damn time I go to put on my pumping bra and adjust the girls they decide to fire off...Im developing cat like reflexes over here.

Also, my husband is STILL obsessed with my boobs ability to produce milk...I was hoping the idea would lose interest to him once it was actually happening but nope...he stares at me while Im pumping and gets all randy....come on man!!

I swear, he would put some on his cereal if I would let him..

Woooooo!  It took some milk of magnesia, but it finally happened,  I woke you with horrid gas pain this morning, I couldn't stand long enough to change Aura's diaper.  I'm so relived.  Nice long sitz bath and some pain pills, I feel human!

DH and I dtd tonight for the first time post baby, and he totally "oops'd" me! I swear, if I end up joining the July 2012 DDC, that man will pay.

DS used to drink up the leftovers from his sisters bottles. I always felt like it was kind of gross but I couldn't come up with a good reason why he shouldn't drink it. He'd unscrew the nippes and just chug all the breastmilk she left behind (and she was never much of a bottle drinker so it would be 3-4 oz leftover from her morning childcare visits).
