I noticed that above each part of the forum there is a "+subscribe" button I am assuming that if I press that it is supposed to let e know if there are any new threads in that forum? If not then what does it do? I tried clicking on it but nothing happens at all. What should happen when I click it?

I am using firefox with windows xp.

It subscribes you to the entire forum (and its subforums). Hover your mouse over the Subscribe button and you should see a little popup window of explanation. When you click it your get a window with a dropdown menu asking you how you'd like to receive updates. You can choose updates by email or only in your subscriptions.

Just need to ask a few things:

Are you clicking the "Subscribe" icon, and not just mousing over it?

Are you using a pop-up blocker or security software that prevents pop-ups?

When you click the "Subscribe" icon on a single Thread page, does the same thing happen?

Just mousing over it without clicking or clicking on it either one nothing happens.

I do have a pop up blocker it is set to tell me if something is blocked and I havnt had it block any thing with MDC in forever that I know about.

The same thing happens when I try it with the individual thread subscription.

Your popup blocker could be the cause. Sometimes it does not work as it should - it blocks a popup but doesn't tell you it did. You can try disabling that and checking the function with it disabled.

Another possibility - go here: http://www.mothering.com/community/users/subscriptions/index/action/edit

Scroll down to the bottom of the page to this:

Do you have that box checked or unchecked?

It was checked. Still not seeing the box though when I unchecked it. It may be my popup blocker I will see if I can figure out how to get it to work.
