Help! moldy kombucha

This is my second batch.  The mother sank to the bottom, and the baby got moldy on the top.  I threw away the baby, and a few days later, there is more mold on the top.  I know I should throw the batch away.  Is the mother salvagable?  Do I put some from this batch in the next batch or just vinegar?

This happened to me too, I think because it was culturing in too cold a spot. I was assuming the whole thing, both mothers, were now contaminated. I'll wait to see what others say before I throw it all out...

Well, I don't have access to another scoby aside from ordering one online, so I'm trying to salvage my mother. I threw out the batch and the new moldy daughter that was forming. I rinsed the mother in cool running water, let her soak in white vinegar for a few hours while I made some more sweet tea, and then I put her in a new batch using ACV in place of Kombucha and added a little extra to keep the pH down. I'd still like to hear some more responses before I would try drinking any, but I'm guessing that if the mother is still contaminated, this batch should have more mold within a few weeks, and if that happens, I'll definitely order a new scoby. Please let me know if I'm being stupid.
