I am due to have our third son in about 3-4 weeks....
Â
DS (23 months) has recently had a sleep regression of sorts... a couple months ago we switched him from co-sleeping to a twin bed in his brother's room and would tuck him in and walk away, and he would fall asleep wonderfully. He would wake up after a few hours but easily soothed back to sleep with just a couple pats and some shooshing (eventually much later he would wake again, and we would bring him back to our bed). A week or so ago all this changed, and not only does he now resist bedtime completely... but when he wakes in the night, there is no chance of soothing him back to sleep in his bed. He is very verbal, and insists on coming to "mama's bed". His cries are not sad, scared, panicky... just MAD.
Â
I'm beginning to have serious anxiety about this, because it is not possible to fit all of us in our queen bed. I have a crib side carred to our bed, but no one has ever slept in it. We try having him sleep there, but he won't have it!! He has become more and more clingy as time progresses, and MUST sleep with his arms or legs wrapped over me.Â
Â
I lay awake with him snuggling there, and wonder where on earth a newborn is supposed to fit in all of this.....
Â
anyone have experience or tips?
