Weirdest poop question ever - HELP

Was just in the tub with DS.  When DH took his diaper off for bathtime there was a poop in there - normal run of the mill baby poop.  He cleaned him off and handed him to me in the tub.

A few minutes into the bath I looked down and saw what looked like a little skinny poop at the bottom.  I went to pick it up and it was really firm... like it was actual tissue or something.  It would be really hard to break it up or in half.  There was fecal matter on the outside but the actual "thing" appears to be lighter in color... maybe like a biege?  It's about 2.5-3 inches long.

We saved it and I'm going to take him to the doctor, but WTH could it be?  He eats solids but only stage 1 purees.

(Since I was in the tub too technically it could have come from me... but I didn't feel anything unusual.)

Paper? Pet hair? Now that they're crawling there is no end to the detritus they can ingest!

Possible that it was a piece of dental floss that was accidentally eaten?  I used to swallow it as a child and that is what made me think about it.  Don't know how our LittleBirdy baby is, but if crawling is happening, who knows what's gone down the pipe.  Our LO is a year and routinely poops out pieces of books (Go, Dog, Go was his first...) and who knows what else.  It's most likely nothing, but I'd freak out too!  Good luck.  Doctor will likely want you to bring in next poop diaper, so hang onto it just in case.

Pinworms et al? Were you out in a park with him recently, or did he play anywhere where dogs (or other animals) might feasibly have contaminated the sand/grass/whatever?

Thanks for all the insight... he's not crawling yet which really narrows it down as it's not likely he was able to eat anything weird.  We thought of pinworms but this is thicker... more like the thickness of an actual earthworm.  I will post what the doctor says!

Something that got stuck in his diaper (uhm, up in his little butt) and then covered in poop? Just an idea.

The doctor said it was definitely most unusual.  She tested it for blood and found none, and since he is eating well, having wet/dirty diapers, is happy and has gained 1 pound since his 6 month wbv we're just going to wait and watch to see if it happens again.

So there you go... not very interesting but wanted to update anyway!

Thank you for the update...don't know you or your LO, but you were both on my mind.  Did the dr. think it was definitely human tissue?  I guess the good news is that the dr. wasn't terribly alarmed to the point of doing a whole bunch of tests or something scary like that.  Good luck!
