So what do I make with this?

I'm feeling decidedly uncreative today, and trying to figure out dinner...

 

I have a chuck steak in the fridge I defrosted, and no idea what to do with it (is it a braising steak?).

 

And for veggies, I have a bulb of fennel, a bunch of spinach, a bunch of asparagus, collards, kale, lettuce. 

 

And then of course kitchen staples like onions, garlic, tomatoes, etc. 

 

Any brilliant thoughts?

How about braising your meat. My recipe is here: http://www.rookblog.com/2011/03/basic-braise.html

 

You can add your chopped fennel with the onion (I presume you have onions/garlic). If you don't have carrots/celery, leave them out. You could use stock or broth instead of tomatoes if you don't have them. Then add chopped kale about 20 mins before serving. Saute the asparagus with garlic. Mmmmm
