Allergic to detergents- need ideas

I think I'm allergic to every detergent out there, but I'm hoping you can give me some suggestions. The ONLY detergent I could use was Gain. I have no idea why it didn't cause any problems, but they changed the formula. I thought some of you may have been through detergent issues. Of course my skin is already extra sensitive right now because of the tree pollen etc.. I am prone to rashes anyhow.

I have tried
Seventh Gen. Free and Clear
All Free and clear
Tide Free
Sun
and now Charlie's

I washed my washer with the Charlie's and then washed a ;load of my clothes twice and then a full wash with no soap. I still got a rash. Charlies says to keep washing and see if it gets better, and that's where I am now.

I have some clothes that I ran without any detergent at all that I am wearing while I figure this out, but it's getting really frustrating. I thought about making my own, but they all call for some kind of soap, and I can't use soap either. I can only use Cetaphil or California Babies Sensitive shampoo/bodywash.

Anyone have any advise or suggestions? I'm getting so tired of being itchy.

What about just using baking soda as your detergent and then using vinegar to rinse (put it in the fabric softener dispenser)?

I am able to use All free and clear but I can only use about 1/4 the recommended amount or I break out.

For shampoo/conditioner you might try Free and Clear.

This may sound irrelevant, but do you have an allergy to palm and/or coconut? Additionally, do you react to petroleum based substances?

You may want to consider looking for a soap which is not based on coconut and/or petroleum as the vast majority on the market are. It is difficult, but doable.

I agree with the PP that baking soda and vinegar may be your best options in the meantime.

Thanks for your replies! I believe California Baby Sensitive is coconut based, and that's the one I'm able to use. Maybe it's petroleum. I'll have to look into that.

I got a bit of a break, though. I found a bunch of bottles of the old version of the Gain I was OK with. I have about 10 bottles, so I was able to get my skin to calm down and stop breaking out and work from there. I have a feeling, though, that I will end up with baking soda and then vinegar wash, so I'll have to tuck that idea away.

I wish I could figure out why most lotions (unscented), shampoos and hand soaps are OK and
