If your baby is in the 14 to 16 pound range right now-- would you help me out for a second?

Thank you so much, first of all, just for reading. Here's the thing-- I'm designing a pair of longies, for a baby who's about 15 pounds, and I can't get hold of the mama to ask her. I want to make them with flared legs, and I need to know where to start the flares. Would you do me a favor and get a tape measure, and measure approximately how many inches, or centimeters-- whatever-- it is from the top of your baby's kneecaps, to the baby's ankles, like right where you'd expect the hem of pants to reach? (With baby's leg gently held straight, please.) I have inseam lengths, from crotch to ankles, but I don't know where the knees are in that length.

I would be eternally grateful.

Multiple responses would be nice, because I'm sure there's variation, and that way I can take an average.

Okay, so E is in bed right now so I can't measure her... but she's just about 16lbs.  I can tell you that if I hold her lower leg when we're playing the knee to ankle length is the exact length from my first finger knuckle to my pinky knuckle when my fingers are spread out. Does that make sense?

So, if you grab your own arm with your fingers spread out, you could measure the distance and have an approximate idea.

Hope that helps a little bit!
