I realized recently that repeated exposure to calm natural births through that series when I was pg w/ DS was one of the reasons I stumbled into a positive birth with no background info at all.  It took the fear away for me.  I figured that if all of those other people could do it, I could too.  And I did!

 

These days there's nothing on but drama-filled screaming and pushing epidurals for everyone.  (No judgement on those who need/choose it, but the one show I've found on hulu, the nurses and doctors totally push it.  It's edited to make the natural birthers look a bit crazy.)

 

I'd love to find "House of Babies" again but it's not on DVD, it's not on netflix or hulu.  I don't get cable, so I can't tell if Discovery Health is still running it.  I haven't had any luck on YouTube. 

 

Anyone know where I can see this show again? 

 

Otherwise, I suppose I can just start googling birth videos. 

 

I'd also like to let DS see some not-dramatic birth video footage.  The screaming versions will just make him scared for me.  I've been open that it hurts, but I don't think he needs to grow up thinking that it's always like the horror show versions that make it onto reality tv these days.
