What is your night weaning story?

My third baby is 11 months. She is still not anywhere near steady with solids, so I have a long way to go before night weaning. It's been so long since I've had a nursling. One of my babies grew out of night nursing after bed time. The other, I can vaguely remember how we did it. I remember when I couldnt take the lack of sleep anymore and it being so hard to get DS out of the habit.

Any stories to share?

DS we tried twice, to night wean him first around 14 months and then around 15 months.  He was not happy with me.  He screamed the first few nights, and eventually realized he was not getting to nurse at night anymore, even if he was comforted and offered water instead.  It took about a week but he did eventually deal with it after awhile.

DD on the other hand, I decided it was time, sent her to her bedroom to co-sleep with DH rather then in the big bed with me and she never tried to night nurse again.  She was 15 months old at the time.  It was the easiest thing ever!
