Cranial Sacral Therapy

Next week I made an appointment to have cranial sacral therapy.  This is my first time and am wondering what to expect?

I have TMJ.  The pain started in my shoulder, neck and then up the back of my head.  Now it has progressed to my jaw.  Hoping the cranial sacral therapy will help.

wishing you luck.  I don't have the words to tell you how highly I think of and how much I adore CST.  It was life changing for us-but not in an extreme-you have one session that totally changes you-kind of way.  It was progressive, gentle and ultimately amazing.  Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Thank-you! I was just reading the cell salt updates.  I love how everything just works together. Thanks for all your input on everything.

Went for my second apt for CST and it has been great.  The TMJ is much better almost gone.  It has relaxed me tremendously. I had no idea how tight and tense my upper body was. The problem I am having is this nerve pain when I bend or exercise.  It jumps from the upper to the lower jaw.The dentist said my teeth were fine so I;'m hoping this will eventually go away.  I have read about something called "cracked tooth syndrome" from tmj.  Going to post a TMJ thread to see if anyone else has experienced this.

No, I have not but will definitely try it.  I'm desperate.  I just looked it up- is it st johns wort tincture?  There was not much info I could find.

thanks

yes, when I broke a tooth I did hypericum tincture on the tooth as needed along with rescue remedy.  I think I was oil pulling as well, which helped.  Calc phos/mag phos/kali phos is also very helpful for the pain.

Okay.  I stopped doing the cell salts b/c I am doing a week long bowel detox and taking this Detox formulahttps://www.herbdoc.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=38&cid=12  .  I started thinking maybe I should stop everything else while on this detox.  I'm doing it to help the lymph nodes

but it seems the detox may be stressing out my jaw. Grrrr.  I'll try what you said.

just be aware that if you're healing from the inside out, the lymphatics do take a long time to fully clear.  I wouldn't expect anything to resolve them in a month.  It often takes several.

Thanks so much for telling me that b/c I think part of the jaw problem is caused by the stress of worrying about the other.  Although the lumps may have been there since I had my son 4 yrs ago.  Thats how long I have had that fatty tissue.  I just never felt that area closely until recently.  I can't expect it to be gone overnight.

Detoxing itself can be so stressful to the body that it can increase anyway the body deals with stress. Might want to look into building the body up instead of tearing it down with a detox. Excersice, eat the right foods for your body, when the body is healing from nerve issuse a high healthy fat diet is great. Whatever high fats work for your body, nuts avocado, coconut products, pasture fed butter, dairy, etc. A mouth guard can be great. Bring it to you CST appt so the can see how it affects your body. Talk to the CST therapist beforehand, they have some ideas or even can consult with your dental practitioner.
I'm a CST practitioner.

Thanks for the tips.  Yes, I realized a few days into it that the detox was something that was not helping my TMJ.  I'll try and eat more fats.  Forgot about the coconut oil!    I guess my rational for the detox was that I already eat healthfully, exercise, take supplements and I needed to do something more.   The exercise was actually causing shooting pains in certain teeth so I had to stop.  What I have learned from the CST sessions so far is that I really don't relax and have been stressing internally alot.  Thats something I really need to address.  I got an over the counter mouth guard yesterday to see it it helps before I purchase the one from the dentist.  I don't think my dentist knows much about TMJ.  Someone in the dental forum posted a link which showed how each tooth relates to different parts of the body.  The exact 3 teeth that were radiating pain were the ones that on the chart related to TMJ.  So here I am thinking for weeks my teeth had issues( fillings needing to be replaced etc.. Wish my dentist could have told me that.   The radiating tooth pain went away a few days ago.  I was also premenstrual which seems to make TMJ worse.  My CST

practitioner had me use bite sticks last time.  At the time it did not bother my TMJ.  Shortly after it felt worse and the next day was the worst I had it.  Otherwise everything else she did was great!  I have never been that relaxed.
